Expository text

Read the following extract from the expository text in session 4 and pay attention to its structure.

Hundreds of thousands of people from around the world visit Washington DC every spring and enjoy the Japanese flowering cherry trees in fullbloom.
When the “Sakura” blossoms, locals and cheerful visitors feel a time of quiet joy as they admire the peaceful beauty of nature.
“I come every year” -says local resident and artist Sheila Crider- “It is a unique opportunity to connect with nature and feel a powerful energy as a result. It is a place that invites you to unwind. A place where all your troubles, angers and worries just disappear, and you just feel free, and you can observe how a feeling of positivity and hope seem to affect everyone who comes”.
